Oil painting on canvas - American Psycho 22" x 30"
Daily Deviation, 2003-11-15

Daily DeviationAnother traditional style painting is what I would like to feature today... American Psycho by ~Dickens-Art is a great picasso-style of this film character. I'm always a fan of the twisted surrealism. (Featured by `syragon)

Eee, I like. The colors are wonderful and gives it an overall creepy effect. This is inspired by the movie American Psycho, right?

In nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritus Sancti. Amen.
Thanks :) I to love the way black, white, grey and black work so well together. I have another painting with the same use of colour, I might submit it soon. :)
Correct, the book also. :)
I love the movie! I haven't had a chance to read the book yet.

Wow, thats an incredible painting. I love how realistic the refleciton is on the blade. I love the effect of the blur on his head and in the lower left part of the piece. It looks fabulous. Nice work.
well, i didn't see the movie, but i think this paiting captures the dark and twisted motif of the book. you did a great job at it

Morbid fact of the week: Each year, the Malagasy people of Madagascar perform a funeral tradition called Famadihana. This ceremony involves digging up the bones of their loved ones, dressing them with new clothes and dancing with them.
Thanks. :) The book was hard to read due to the imense detail and horrific content, but it was definately written extremly well. The shock of it all is what really inspired this piece.
